Italy, the perfect place for CE!

Continue Your Orthodontic Education – in Italy!

Continuing education is an important part of your orthodontic practice, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. If increasing your knowledge while enjoying the sights, sounds, and tastes of Italy sounds enticing, Lacy Edney of Go Italianissimo has the perfect trip for you September 18-28, 2019.

What is Go Italianissimo?

Go Italianissimo is a travel company that specializes in trips to Italy. We offer guided trips, dental and orthodontic continuing education trips to Italy, trip planning and hourly advice on itinerary set-up, hotel recommendations, and booking specific activities and attractions (museum tickets, private water taxi, tour guides, etc.).

How long has Go Italianissimo been in business?

We’ve been in business for four years. I started the business in San Francisco, then transferred it to Miami Beach, and have booked over 50 international trips for clients.

Why plan trips for dentists and orthodontists?

My dad is an orthodontist, so I grew up taking vacations planned around CE. It was just natural to offer this type of trip to Italy where dentists and orthodontists can get their CE credits and enjoy one of the most beautiful countries in the whole world!

Why should orthodontists go to Italy for CE?

I think it’s an extraordinary opportunity to pair business and pleasure! The continuing education will be divided into four-hour segments on three separate mornings. Orthodontists can attend the sessions, then have the rest of the trip (three afternoons and seven full days) to enjoy exploring the history, art, food, and wine of Italy.

I’ll be the personal guide for the trip and will take care of all the logistics while we are there. We’ll be taking a cooking class in a villa in the Tuscany countryside where attendees will learn how to make an appetizer, a pasta, and a dessert, then eat what they make along with some local wine. We’ll be taking a privately guided tour of the Uffizi Galle

ry which is home to the most iconic Renaissance paintings. We’ll take an afternoon trip to Montalcino, which is a little medieval hilltop town in Southern Tuscany known for its wonderful red wine (Brunello di Montalcino). Also, we’ll be taking a full day trip to visit Pienza and Montepulciano – both idyllic medieval hilltop towns with wonderful wines and cheeses.

In addition to the activities included in the trip, attendees will have four free afternoons and evenings where they can explore and have dinner on their own. For these free periods, I can help them book activities based on their interests. I think it’s an extraordinary opportunity to pair business and pleasure!

What is this trip’s continuing education about?

The speaker will be Dr. Steve Filler, the Associate Dean of Admissions at the University of Alabama Dental School. He is an experienced and engaging speaker who makes his topics practical, fun and informative. He will be talking about medical emergencies and infectious diseases that affect orthodontists, dentists, and their staff, and attendees will earn 12 CE credit hours. For more information, see the course overview.

What is the cost and what does it include?
The cost is $4,197 per person for the trip, and includes:
  • 9 nights accommodations in 4-star hotels
  • Transportation to included excursions and between hotels

  • Included activities: day trips, afternoon trips, group activities (see itinerary)

  • Museum tickets and local tour guide

  • Cooking class

  • All breakfasts

  • 5 Dinners (see itinerary for details)

  • Personal guide for the entire trip who speaks English and Italian
